How do I upgrade my FDCS software?
Symptoms / Solutions:
If you are currently under support, you are eligible to upgrade the software to the latest version. To get the link to the latest software version download you can email us at software@focus-microwaves.com. You will be provided with two links; One for DVD software version and one for single file version.
If you are installing the software on a computer on which the FDCS software was never installed before, download DVD software version. After downloading the zip file, unzip it at any location of your hard-drive. Install NI, or Agilent drivers from. The installers are located in \GPIB&VISA\ folder of the unzipped data. Make sure you install only one of them. After driver installation run setup.exe file to install the software.
If you already have FDCS software installed on the computer download single file version. Before uninstalling the software backup all custom drivers (dlls) you have on your computer. Uninstall current version. Uninstalling the software doesn’t delete your current databases. Optionally as a precaution, you can backup .mdb database files (LPExAdmin.mdb, LPExData.mdb, LPExSwitch.mdb) located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Focus Microwaves\Load Pull Explorer\ folder, before uninstalling. To install the software run FDCS_version_singlefile.exe. In case if you have any custom drivers (dlls) backup, reregister them after installation using Focus Driver Registration Utility.
You might be required to generate license diagnosis file of your hard-key before links to download the software are provided to you. It will be the case if your hard-key has to be upgraded to a newer software version.
You might be required to generate license diagnosis on the computer the software will be installed on if you don’t have the hard-key, before links to download the software are provided to you. In that case you will be provided with a trial code that will be computer specific and the trial code should only be used on the computer on which the diagnosis file was created on.
