Are the ‘a’ and ‘b’ wave measurements from FDCS in RMS or Peak?

June 12, 2024

FDCS

Symptoms / Solutions:

The ‘a’ and ‘b’ wave measurements are stored in RMS format.

If using these in a third-party software such as ADS, it is possible that this software expects these wave quantities in peak.

To convert the values from RMS to Peak, you need to multiply each complex real/imaginary value by the square root of 2.

If using ADS or Microwave Office, you can use the File Converter and select the required format directly (Peak/RMS). This will create an MDIF file that can be imported.
